From Annecy you have to take the D909 at the east side of the lake to Talloires. Just before the village of Angon, take the exit left.

This hike, mainly in the undergrowth starting from the village of Angon, will allow you to discover the heights of Lake Annecy. You will pass the Pont des Fées, the 60-metre-high Angon waterfall, and the Ermitage Saint-Germain, a high spiritual place for Catholics. You will have several beautiful lake views, especially from the hermitage.

Cascade d'Angon provided us the perfect waterfalling excuse for enjoying what we think was one of France's "hidden" gems - the charming canal town of Old Annecy or La Vieille Ville d'Annecy.. Just imagine something like France's miniature version of Venice mixed in with a picturesque alpine lake and that pretty much sums up what the Annecy experience would be like.

Departure is from the Angon parking lot in Talloires, at 411 route des Vignes. The hike begins on a country lane, then follows the carriage road to the cascade d'Angon for 300 meters, before turning off onto a path towards the hamlet of Vérel. At the junction with the Route de la Forclaz, take the signposted path to the waterfall.
